The New Toyota bZ U.S. Version Will Introduce a Lot of New Features
You might remember how news outlets reported about the new 2026 bZ4X model from Toyota’s line-up and are, perhaps, wondering why we are regurgitating old news here. But there is a catch.
Namely, the information released some time ago was related to the European market changes, and the company has now revealed the changes coming to the U.S. models, and they are quite exciting.
The new model is going to get a solid overhaul next year, and we have all the details here for you.
As you might have deduced, the Toyota bZ4X will now be known as simply the Toyota bZ, which is a change that has little to do with the car itself, but it is a simplification that many users will find positive since the name is now pronounced more easily.
It seems that the U.S. model will retain all the mid-cycle changes that the European model is going to introduce, but there will be a few additional surprises. One of the most important ones is the inclusion of the NACS charging port, giving the new model access to Tesla’s vast Supercharger network.
The new model will also get a new pair of batteries: the standard pack will now have an estimated 52-kWh capacity, while the larger battery will boast an estimated 67 kWh. In case you’re interested, the smaller pack is exclusive to the front-wheel-drive XLE trim, the least expensive model, for which Toyota estimates a driving range of 236 miles. All other models will have a larger pack and a range estimate of about 314 miles.
The interior will be simpler, with a less flamboyant design, physical controls that now include knobs, no plastic framing, fender sections that match its body color, and new daytime running lights that are now connected by an illuminated bar.
The price hasn’t been revealed, but some estimates put the cheaper models at about $39K, while the larger models could be around $44K.
