Mercedes-Benz Will Increase U.S.-Based Production Amidst Tariffs Criris

President Donlad Trump’s tariffs caused a lot of problems around the world. At this point, everyone agrees that the tariffs will have a lot of impact on the market, but no one is sure how much and how the issues will manifest.
There are pessimistic predictions, as well as some more realistic ones, but there is no one serious claiming that the tariffs might have a positive result, at least not a short-term one. And while the long-term consequences are unknown, companies are adapting to the new reality.
This is especially true for the auto industry, where the tariffs might hit the hardest. Mercedes-Benz has just revealed that it will be changing some things going forward.
If you remember, Donald Trump said that the tariffs would bring in numerous companies to the U.S., as everyone producing in the U.S. would not have to pay the high tariffs. And while Trump’s politics is very, very volatile in general, it seems that that volatility is that the companies are taking into account when planning ahead.
Mercedes-Benz has just confirmed that they plan to increase their U.S.-based production in their factory in Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant by 2027. Mercedes-Benz has been a presence in the U.S. for some time now, but the upcoming months will see it increase that presence.
But, to make it clear, they haven’t really specified in what way they are going to increase their presence. It is said that new production tracks will be added, but it seems that the focus is going to be on the production of a currently undisclosed core vehicle segment, not whole vehicles.
Of course, more details are going to appear later, but it seems that some companies have decided to increase their U.S. presence in light of Trump’s decisions. It will interesting to see how it all plays out!
