The gaming world was recently shocked by the cancellation of the planned Black Panther game, which was supposed to be released by EA in collaboration with Marvel. There was a lot of excitement about the game, which is why the news hit hard.

On top of that, we’ve also gotten confirmation that Cliffhanger Studios was shut down, which was another major blow.

Taking all of this into account, Marvel fans began to worry about the EA/Marvel deal, but the people from EA are reassuring fans that the original deal is still on track.

The multi-game deal between Marvel and EA was a big thing. EA, regardless of the criticism it has been facing recently, is still a major gaming developer, and its games adhere to a certain standard of quality that has to be respected.

This is why a multi-game collaboration was met with a lot of joy. But then – Black Panther was cancelled, and that caused some panic. Namely, many fans began to fear whether this would reduce the total number of games, but it seems that it won’t.

“Our partnership with Marvel remains strong and our multi-title, long-term collaboration continues,” EA confirmed, with a second statement confirming the following: “The multi-title, long-term relationship between Marvel Games and EA, a creative collaboration focused on original storytelling with various, beloved Marvel characters, remains strong. Development of our console and PC titles, beginning with Marvel’s Iron Man, is led by Motive Studios.”

It was, thus, confirmed that a three-game deal is still in place and the planned Iron Man game is the one we can confirm is being worked on by EA. The two other games are still an enigma, but we know that Marvel has several games in development with different studios, so the fans will definitely have something to enjoy!
