‘Monster Hunter Wilds’: First Big Update Arrives April 4, Here Are the Details
Monster Hunter Wilds is getting its first free Title Update on April 4, and it’s packed with exciting new content! Capcom announced that this update will add Mizutsune, a new gathering hub, and more features for hunters to enjoy. A second free update is also coming this summer, with Lagiacrus teased as another huntable monster.
Mizutsune, the graceful Bubble Fox Wyvern, is making its way into the Forbidden Lands. Players can start hunting Mizutsune at Hunter Rank 21 by talking to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. Be careful—this monster’s slippery moves and bubble attacks can leave hunters struggling to stay on their feet!
For hunters at Hunter Rank 50, Arch-tempered Rey Dau will appear in an Event Quest, offering a tougher battle and the chance to forge the Rey Dau Gamma armor set.
Once players reach Hunter Rank 50, they will also unlock the chance to hunt Zoh Shia again, which will now appear in Wyvern’s Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria. Defeating it will provide powerful high-rank hunter and Palico equipment.
Title Update 1 introduces new Arena Quests, Challenge Quests, and Free Challenge Quests. These are special missions where players can test their skills with pre-determined gear or their own equipment.
They can be completed solo, with a friend (2-player mode), or in a full 4-player group. Fast hunters can even compete for top spots on the leaderboards and earn special pendants!
A new social area called the Grand Hub is coming, allowing players to meet up, take part in activities, and prepare for hunts.
Here’s what’s inside:
- Barrel Bowling Minigame – Play for fun rewards.
- Nightly Diva Performance – Enjoy the village of Suja’s traditions.
- Squad Information Counter – Manage your Squads in a single place.
- Leaderboard Display – See the fastest times for Arena Quests.
Starting April 22 – May 6, the first Festival of Accord: Blossomdance will take place in the Grand Hub. During this event:
- The Grand Hub’s appearance and food options will change.
- Limited-time equipment, gestures, and decorations will be available.
- Old Event Quests will return for players to enjoy.
- At the end of the festival, Arch-tempered Rey Dau will appear in a special Event Quest.
Capcom also teased a special collaboration event coming in May!
Hunters will also get new gestures, cosmetics, and Camp Gear for their Pop-Up Camps. Plus, Alma (your handler) will get a new outfit and the ability to change her glasses—all for free!
A second free update is planned for the summer, and Capcom hinted that Lagiacrus will be the next huntable monster.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam). Get ready to jump back in when Title Update 1 launches on April 4!
