Bentley might not be the most impactful brand on the market, but it is one of the most reliable and acclaimed ones. A symbol for luxury, the manufacturer is one of the most elite ones in the field of SUVs and luxury sports cars.

Bentley has also entered the EV market in a spectacular fashion, producing fast and reliable vehicles for those who can afford them. Of course, Bentleys are more expensive than “regular” vehicles, but you do get what you pay for.

A good example of that is the new Bentayga Speed model, which is going to be Bentley’s fastest model to date, and we are going to reveal the details here.

The new model is faster than Bentley’s previous record holder and based on the information we have, it could be a serious contender for both Porsche and Aston Martin, which have very similar models.

The Bentayga Speed will be able to catch 193 mph, which is brilliant, and it will reach 62 mph faster than its predecessor; it is half a second faster, but it’s still an improvement as far as the new SUV is concerned. The new model will be able to reach the mark in 3.4 sec, thus beating the 3.9 seconds and 4.5 seconds times of the old Speed and the V8.

All of this is thanks to the new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 that puts out 641 bhp and 627 lb ft – which is a gain of 15 bhp and a loss of only 37 lb ft. This also means that the new SUV will be lighter, and the difference in mass is significant – the new model is 42kg lighter, resulting in a total mass of 2,466 kg.

Reworked drive modes will also be available, including a new Sports mode. Also, rear-wheel steering aids manoeuvrability at lower speeds and boosts stability when pressing on. On the inside, the model will have a new display, as well as Speed badging on the passenger side of the dashboard and the treadplates, plus matching embroidery on the seats.

As for the pricing, we can confirm that it will start at £219,000 (cca. $296,000), positioning the Speed between the S and the Mulliner EWB.
