Volkswagen ID 3 to Get Big Update Before 2028

Volkswagen is giving the ID 3 electric car another big update. This will be the second facelift for the ID 3, which first came out in 2020. The new version is planned to launch in the UK in 2026.
The changes this time will be bigger than the small updates made in 2023. Volkswagen wants to keep the ID 3 fresh and exciting until a brand-new electric Golf arrives in 2028.
The front of the car will get a brand-new look. The design will be influenced by the newer ID 2all and ID GTI Concept models. Volkswagen’s design chief, Andreas Mindt, said he wants their electric cars to look more friendly and less serious compared to the older models.
Another big change is the roof and tailgate, which will now be painted the same colour as the rest of the car. This should make the ID 3 look lower and sportier.
Inside, there are even bigger improvements. The updated ID 3 will get a new dashboard that uses real buttons and switches. It will borrow this design from the upcoming ID 2. Volkswagen is getting rid of the touch controls that many people found annoying. The steering wheel will also have a new look, and the materials used for the doors and trim will be much nicer.
Volkswagen has not yet shared if there will be any changes to the ID 3’s electric motors or batteries. However, it is expected that the ID 3 will get the same efficiency upgrades planned for the ID 2.
This news comes as Volkswagen also prepares to start pilot production of the smaller ID 2 and the Cupra Raval at the Seat factory in Martorell, Spain.
