The Lexus RZ is a popular electric SUV, and not that long ago, we’ve seen the upgraded version come to the European market. Now, a North American edition of the upgraded version is in the works, and it will sport some major upgrades.
Of course, the most obvious change is the introduction of the NACS charging ports, which will will make the car compatible with North American standards. The upgraded version will come in three different forms, and here is the basic data:
Model | Battery | Range | 0 to 60 mph Acceleration | Output |
---|---|---|---|---|
RZ 350e FWD | 74.69 kWh | 300 miles | 7.2 sec | 221 hp |
RZ 450e AWD | 74.69 kWh | 260 miles (18″ tires) | 4.9 sec | 308 hp |
RZ 550e F Sport AWD | 76.96 kWh | 225 miles (20″ tires) | 4.1 sec | 402 hp |
As you can see, these are some impressive numbers and whichever model you pick, it seems that you’re going to do a good job. This is a true upgrade in every possible sense and we are sure that the owners will love the new model.
Oh, we also need to add that the upgraded version will get a new “M Mode,” which will feature a virtual manual gear shifting to make it feel like a manual transmission.
Aside from these technical changes, the new model will also get a visual upgrade. The new F-Sport model will get exclusive features like F Sport branding on the rear spoiler, front and rear bumpers, and front grille. It will be available in a new color (called “Wind”), which is a solid gray with “subtle metallic highlight,” as described.
On top of that, all models will get an improved panorama glass roof, as part of the interior redesign, while the F Sport interior will have black Ultrasuede material with blue stitching available. Other upgrades include F Sport scuff plates, steering wheel, and pedals.
All the models will be assembled in Japan, and more information will be revealed when the model comes out later this year. So far, no details about the pricing have been revealed.
