Nissan is getting ready to reveal the next generation of its Elgrand minivan in Japan. The new model will have a modern design, advanced hybrid technology, and a focus on comfort. It is expected to debut later this year and will launch in the market by 2026 or early 2027.

The design of the new Elgrand is inspired by the bold Hyper Tourer concept shown in 2023. While the production version will look more practical, it will still have a futuristic feel.

The front of the minivan will feature slim LED lights and a stylish grille, giving it a sleek and high-tech look. Sliding side doors will make getting in and out easy, and the rear end will have clean lines, wide taillights, and a roof spoiler to help with airflow.

Nissan hasn’t shared the inside of the minivan yet, but it’s expected to be spacious and full of premium features. There will likely be different seating setups, including a top model with four separate seats that offer plenty of legroom—perfect for long trips. Nissan’s latest driver-assist technology, ProPilot, will also be included to make driving safer and easier.

Under the hood, the new Elgrand will use Nissan’s third-generation e-Power hybrid system. This setup uses a 1.5-liter gas engine as a generator and electric motors to drive the wheels. It’s designed to be quiet, fuel-efficient, and lightweight.

The Elgrand has been around since 1997, with new versions released in 2002 and 2010. This fourth-generation model will launch in late 2025, and Nissan plans to start selling it by March 2027.

Currently, the Elgrand starts at about ¥4,082,100 (around $29,000) in Japan. It’s Nissan’s top minivan, sitting above other models like the Serena and the NV200 Vanette.

The new Elgrand is one of four vehicles Nissan plans to launch in Japan by 2027. The others include a new Leaf crossover, a small kei car, and a mystery model that might be a new version of the Kicks SUV.

With this new Elgrand, Nissan hopes to compete strongly with rivals like the Toyota Alphard and win over drivers who want a stylish, roomy, and high-tech minivan.
