Roger Clark, the actor who voices Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, has a fun and unexpected idea for the future of the series. During a panel at C2E2 2025, Clark said Rockstar Games should create a cowboy version of Mario Kart — with tiny horses instead of go-karts.

They should do a Mario Kart,” Clark said during the Outlaws for Life: A Red Dead Redemption Reunion panel. The crowd laughed, but Clark was serious. “Instead of little scooters, maybe they could do those tiny little horses. What are they called?

The panel moderator, Grant DeArmitt from Popverse, quickly helped him out. “Shetland ponies,” he said.

Clark repeated the name with a smile. “Shetland ponies! Yes! We could throw banana peels in front of each other and stuff like that. That would be awesome.

The idea didn’t stop there. DeArmitt joined in, joking, “Dutch as the Bowser character.”

Yes! Or Donkey Kong,” Clark agreed, laughing. “Who’s Luigi? Which one of us is Luigi? That’s the big question.

Even though it started as a joke, the idea has fans talking. A western-themed racing game set in the Red Dead universe could actually be a lot of fun. Imagine players racing through dusty canyons, snowy mountains, and wild frontier towns — all on small, speedy ponies.

You could use cowboy-style power-ups like throwing lasso ropes, chucking boots, or dropping bags of beans to slow others down. And yes, banana peels too.

Clark’s idea shows he still has a lot of love for the Red Dead world and its characters. While most fans are hoping for a Red Dead Redemption 3, this lighter, sillier spin-off could bring something totally new to the series.

A cowboy kart racer made by Rockstar, with beautiful open-world graphics and wild west flair? Honestly, that sounds like something fans would line up to play.
