Nintendo’s Switch 2 Treehouse Livestream Flooded With Angry Price Complaints
Nintendo’s first livestream after the Switch 2 announcement is not going as planned. Instead of excitement, the YouTube chat is filled with complaints from fans demanding Nintendo “DROP THE PRICE.”
The biggest issue is the high cost of Nintendo’s new console and games. The Switch 2 is priced at $449.99, and its games, including Mario Kart World, are selling for $79.99. Fans are especially frustrated by this price jump since previous Nintendo games cost $59.99.
Nintendo is also offering a bundle that includes Mario Kart World for $499.99, saving $30 on the game. However, this has not calmed complaints.
Another issue upsetting fans is Nintendo’s decision to charge for Welcome Tour, a tutorial game for the Switch 2. Many players believe this should be free, especially since PlayStation includes Astro’s Playroom for free with every PS5.
Despite the flood of angry messages, Nintendo’s Treehouse livestream presenters have not responded to the backlash. However, this controversy is unlikely to fade soon, as fans continue to pressure Nintendo to lower prices.
