Nissan Will Launch a New, Mid-Size PHEV Pickup in China That Will Be More than Affordable

As far as the car market is concerned, China has been a very special area for years now. The Chinese market is great, but there are also a lot of locally-manufactured vehicles, which is why foreign companies have to adapt, mostly in terms of the price.
This is why many global manufacturers tend to release special vehicles for the Chinese market. We’ve recently talked about one such model from Toyota, but now it’s time for another one.
Namely, we know that Nissan is going to produce a special mid-size pickup for the Chinese market and we have all the details here.
Following Toyota’s recent example, Nissan is the next Japanese company to start producing affordable vehicles for the Chinese market. In this case, we can confirm that Zhengzhou Nissan is preparing a special new pickup that will be named Z9.
The pickup will be quite convenient for the modern market, with the basic version offering a total of 35 miles (60 km) of range on the base 17 kWh battery, but if you want a more powerful pickup, you will be able to buy the 32.85 kWh battery version with 85 miles (135 km) of all-electric range.
The Z9 will be very similar to the famous Frontier Pro, and it is essentially going to be the Chinese version of that model, and based on the information we have, it is expected to seel quite well.
Why? Well, because of the price, of course! The base model will be available for “just” $16,600, while the more powerful version will be available for around $23,400, which will make it one of the most affordable EV pickups on the market.
We can only hope that such prices will come outside of China soon!
