NIO Confirms the Nio Firefly is Coming to Europe, a Right-Hand Drive Model Is in the Works As Well

NIO has been one of the leading EV companies from China. And while the company became notable for operating battery-swapping stations for its vehicles, as an alternative to conventional charging stations, it is a growing factor in the EV market.
One of the company’s most popular models is the Nio Firefly, which has been a Chinese exclusive since its 2024 debut, but that is going to change soon.
Namely, NIO has confirmed that the Firefly will be coming to Europe later this year, first on the continent, and later in the United Kingdom as well, as a right-hand drive model is in the works.
The Nio Firefly is a small urban car, and it has been envisioned as an alternative to the popular Mini, as well as competition for the Renault 5 and the incoming Volkswagen ID 2 models. Of course, when the Nio was a Chinese exclusive, European manufacturers had less to worry about, but now… the Firefly is coming to Europe.
Namely, the car will be coming to several European markets later this year, including Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, and Romania. A right-hand drive model has not been finished, but the company is preparing to enter the British market by October this year!
More information will follow in the upcoming weeks, but we can already announce that the Firefly has a range of 260 miles (albeit on the lenient CLTC test cycle) and a single rear-mounted 141bhp motor, which makes it a solid competitor.
At the same time, the car’s price in China is around £12,500 (cca. $17,000), which makes it quite affordable.
