A brand-new zombie survival game, Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days, is now available on PC and Mac through Steam Early Access. Made by New Zealand-based studio PikPok, this game is part of the popular Into the Dead series, which has been downloaded over 150 million times.

This is the first time the series comes to PC, and it has already become one of the top 50 most wishlisted games on Steam.

The game is set in Walton, Texas, in the year 1980. As summer heat blazes, a zombie outbreak spreads through the city. Survivors must do whatever it takes to stay alive. Food is low, trust is rare, and every choice can mean life or death.

Players lead a group of survivors who are running out of supplies and hope. You will upgrade shelters, gather food and weapons, and sneak past zombies and dangerous humans. Some people may help, but others will only look out for themselves.

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days mixes survival horror with base management. Players will have to decide whether to fight or avoid enemies, explore for supplies, and search for ways to escape. Each day brings new challenges, and the wrong decision can lead to disaster. To survive, you must plan carefully and be ready to face hard choices.

PikPok says the game will get new content every four to six weeks during Early Access. The first update is planned for May 2025. The developers also shared a roadmap showing what updates are coming next.

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days marks an exciting, immersive evolution of the franchise,” said Mario Wynands, CEO of PikPok. “With its Early Access launch, we welcome players to the city of Walton, and look forward to sharing frequent updates and receiving feedback through the EA period.”

The game is priced at $24.99 and includes a free demo on Steam. It supports several languages, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Russian.

If you enjoy tense survival games and managing a group of desperate people in a dangerous world, this may be the next game for you.
