The 2026 Lotus Line Looks Great, Despite Only Minor Upgrades

Lotus Cars has been one of the most important brands in the sports and luxury car market, and the company has been a bigger and bigger player when it comes to electric vehicles as well.
Operating from the United Kingdom, Lotus has become a global player without a doubt and its vehicles are driven in all parts of the world, if you’re able to afford them, of course, considering that they are a luxury brand.
When it comes to recent years, the 2021-debuting Lotus Emira has been one of the brand’s most popular vehicles and the company is preparing for a new iteration for the 2026 line, but that’s not all!
Lotus has presented several new models, although we have to confirm that the changes will be small, but important. Before getting to the Emira, we’ll talk about the other trims in the next paragraph.
The new V6 SE will have an additional blacked-out trim, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, and unique badging, and will come with the standard Zinc Grey paint. There’s also the new Turbo, which is going to be slightly less powerful than the Turbo SE model and will make slightly less power from its turbocharged four-pot sourced from AMG. And, ultimately, there is the new Racing Line trim, which will add pinstripes, painted mirror caps, and unique black and silver exterior badging.
Now that this is over, we can focus on the new Lotus Emira. Like the previously mentioned models, the new Emira won’t get any major updates, but the ones we know about are quite interesting.
Namely, the company has tinkered with damper calibration and dialed in the wheel alignment for improved handling and comfort, which is great. There is also a new compression mount for manual-equipped cars, which will allow for more precise gear changes. The DCT-equipped models will also have faster and smoother shifts thanks to all of these recalibration efforts. Both versions will also sport tweaked cooling systems that shed weight and better manage engine temps.
The models are set to arrive later this year, but U.S. customers might have to wait again. As you probably remember, the Emira came to the U.S. in 2024 for the first time, and it seems that the supply chains are once again on hold, so it might be some time before the new models arrive in the States.
