‘Star Wars Outlaws’ Releases Free Demo for Players
Star Wars Outlaws was released in 2024, as you probably remember. The game was a somewhat different take on the world of Star Wars, and while the critics generally gave it positive reviews, the game underperformed with the fans.
Sales numbers were disappointing for Ubisoft, and while the game was not a complete flop, it was definitely a disappointment for the company. Now, we have a new development we’d like to report on.
Namely, it seems that Ubisoft is desperate to boost the games’ sales, which is why they’ve just released a free demo version of the game, potentially to motivate more players to buy it!
The free demo of Star Wars Outlaws has been released on April 17, 2025 for the PC and Xbox. This is just a portion of the game and while no official reason has been provided with the release, it could very well be that Ubisoft wants to give more players a chance to experience the game – which really isn’t bad at all – and then to, potentially, buy it.
As for the features of the demo, here is what you can expect:
- Experience the iconic planet of Tatooine as the scoundrel Kay Vess alongside your loyal companion, Nix.
- Seek out a mercenary to join your crew. To find him, you will need to navigate the planet’s lawless dunes on your speeder.
- Face off against the Hutt Cartel, Tusken Raiders, and other menacing dangers.
- Pick up contracts in Mos Eisley, try your hand at a few games of Kessel Sabacc, venture out beyond the city limits to uncover the many opportunities within the open world.
- Jump into the pilot seat and explore the dangers of Tatooine space and engage in thrilling dogfights.
The downsides of this demo are its size – which is a staggering 30.5GB – and its playtime, as the demo offers only three hours of effective gameplay. But, it might motivate you to want to play more.
