Alongside electric cars, e-bikes are also – without a doubt – the future and that is why the e-bike market is slowly expanding, with more and more companies offering some great products for those who prefer e-bikes.

One of them is the NYC-based startup called Infinite Machine, a mobility startup whose main goal is to create “the most compelling non cars on Earth.” So far, their most famous product is the P1, a futuristic-looking scooter that looks like something Tesla made, but now it’s time for something else.

Namely, Infinite Machine has revealed Olto, a very interesting and also very futuristic e-bike and if you’re interested to know more, we have all the information you need!

Before we continue, take a look at what the Olto looks like in this cool video:

The Olto looks like a scooter, a Vespa for example, with an upright seating position and a step-through frame construction, but it is much more futuristic and elegant in design, so the experience of driving it won’t be completely identical.

The Olto will have a 2.0-kilowatt motor embedded in the rear hub and will allow for a 33-mph top speed. The company claims that it will be able to travel 40 miles on a charge thanks to a 1.2-kilowatt-hour battery. To be clear, the power level described is intended for off-road use, while the bike will have an optional software limit that can be set to 750 watts and 20 mph, depending on where you are. It also has dual suspension and can be operated via pedal assist or a throttle.

But, aside from these more or less “classic” e-bike components, the Olto will also have some very neat features that are not that typical. For starters, it will be able to carry two people right, as it comes with a stretched-out seat and an extra set of foot pegs that pop out from the frame. On top of that, there are some amazing security features:

  • The steering and motor will be locked automatically after you take a ride.
  • Via the company’s app, you will be able to use your phone as a key; the Olto will automatically unlock as soon as it senses you approaching. Of course, you will still be able to use a keycard if you want.
  • Its official app will include GPS tracking and will alert you if the bike senses anything suspicious happening around it. The alarm system is powered by an additional battery.

The battery will be both removable and swappable. The company says it will take 5.5 hours to charge using the included charger, or just three hours using the optional “Super Charger.” The application will allow you to monitor the battery status and health.

As for the other neat features, they are:

  • An integrated headlight, brake light and turn signals.
  • A motorcycle horn.
  • USB ports for charging your phone and under-seat storage.
  • Integrated under-seat hooks for hanging helmets.
  • Hydraulic disc brakes.
  • The pedals magnetize in place to function better as stationary foot pegs.

The bike will also be customizable, so you will be able to get an Olto tailored according to your own wishes. The e-bike is available to configure and preorder now with a $100 deposit, while the first bikes will ship this fall.
