If you’re a fan of cars, you might not know who Eric Cantona is, especially if you’re a tad younger. Cantona has absolutely nothing to do with cars (or, to be more precise, he had nothing to do with cars until now), but fans of football (soccer) will know him very well.

So, how is a football star related to cars, and why are we talking about Eric Cantona on a tech-related portal? Well, there is a great reason!

Namely, Eric Cantona has just designed a wholly unique Ford Capri, and it is inspired by Cantona’s most memorable moment.

Eric Cantona is a former French footballer who is currently in the acting business. He was an extremely talented and skilled footballer whose major career highlights were stints at Olympique Marseille and Manchester United.

But, much more for his football career, Cantona has gone down in history for his personality and his incidents, both on and off the field. Among them, the most famous one is this one:

So, how is this famous moment related to this article? Well, Eric Cantona has been hired by Ford to participate in the development of the new electrified and SUV-ified Ford Capri. It was a big marketing campaign as Cantona has been present in numerous publicity shots next to the new model, but the collaboration has taken on a new form.

Namely, not only has Cantona been involved in the promotion of the said new model, he has now received a wholly unique version of the car just for himself. Why unique? Well, the car has his (in)famous kung-fu kick stitched into the seats!
