Audi E5 Sportback Revealed: New Electric Car for China with 478-Mile Range
Audi has just shown off its brand-new electric car made only for China — the Audi E5 Sportback. This all-electric vehicle was revealed at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show, and it’s packed with power, tech, and a super long range.
The E5 Sportback has a 100kWh battery and can drive up to 478 miles on a single charge. That’s one of the highest ranges you’ll find in an electric car today. It also uses 800V fast-charging technology. That means it can get about 230 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging.
Audi is making the E5 Sportback in four different versions. They start at 295 horsepower and go all the way up to 776 horsepower. Some models have rear-wheel drive, and others come with quattro all-wheel drive.
The fastest version can go from 0 to 62 mph in only 3.4 seconds.
The outside of the E5 Sportback looks very modern. It has a smooth fastback shape, slim LED lights, and cool aero features like a floating front spoiler, a rear wing, and air vents. The wheels are big, and the whole car looks very sporty and clean.
Inside, it’s just as impressive. There’s a huge 27-inch 4K touchscreen that stretches across the dashboard. It’s powered by a strong Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, which can do 30 billion operations per second. That’s more than enough to run the car’s AI assistant, change the temperature, or help with driving features.
The E5 Sportback has smart driving features too, like LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, cameras, and other tools to help keep you safe on the road.
This car is the first of three new electric Audis planned for 2026 and 2027 in China. So expect even more cool electric cars from Audi soon.
