The legendary Hemi V-8 engine is making a comeback in the Dodge Charger, as new reports reveal plans to reintroduce the powerful engine alongside electric and six-cylinder options.

According to insiders, the Hemi V-8 will join the lineup of the redesigned Charger, which will also feature a new twin-turbo inline-six and the Charger Daytona EV powertrains.

However, fans will have to wait until late 2026 to get their hands on the Hemi-powered Charger. In the meantime, the electric Charger Daytona models are already available, with the R/T offering 456 horsepower and the Scat Pack boasting 670 horsepower.

In addition to the Hemi, Dodge is preparing to launch new models with the Hurricane twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, with versions offering 420 and 550 horsepower. Production for these models is set to begin in May, with customer deliveries expected by the summer.

Though details on the specific Hemi variants returning to the Charger are unclear, there are rumors about the possible revival of the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, which could mean the return of the powerful Hellcat version. While it’s not certain, the future of the Charger lineup looks set to include a mix of classic and modern powertrains.
