The Kia EV9 Is Hard to Come By, But There’s a Good Reason – It’s Been Sold Out
You might have tried to get your hands on the Kia EV9 three-row electric SUV, but you’ve probably been unable to buy it. And while Kia sold over 22,000 EV9 models in the U.S. in 2024, they only sold 37 vehicles in May 2025.
You might be thinking that there is an issue with the model, which would be problematic considering that the 2026 models are starting to arrive at dealerships, but there is a very good and not-problematic-at-all reason for the vehicle’s scarcity.
Namely, as the numbers confirm, the Kia EV9 sold out much faster than even Kia itself expected, which explains why they are so difficult to find.
Everyone knew that the Kia EV9 was doing great, but with a shortage of models recently, those less acquainted with the situation on the market might have thought that there was an issue with the model.
At the same time, Kia has confirmed that it has “solidified its position within the EV market,” so the idea that we’re dealing with an issue makes absolutely no sense, right? Well, that is correct.
Namely, according to the data we have, ahead of the arrival of the 2026 Kia EV9, the 2025 Kia EV9 has already sold out, which is absolutely amazing and it creates a great atmosphere ahead of the 2026 line’s launch.
This is also noteworthy because – as we have reported earlier – Kia offered some great financial deals for the 2026 EV9 line. Here are the main prices, just as a reminder:
Trim | 2024 | 2025 | 2026 |
---|---|---|---|
Light Standard Range | $54,900 | $54,900 | $54,900 |
Light Long Range | $59,200 | $59,900 | $57,900 |
Wind | $63,900 | $63,900 | $63,900 |
Land | $69,900 | $69,900 | $68,900 |
GT-Line | $73,900 | $73,900 | $71,900 |
On top of that, up until last week, Kia was offering major significant discounts on 2025 EV9 models, including a $10,000 customer cash rebate or 0% APR. So, if you add this – the discounts for the outgoing model – to the 2026 pricing discounts, it seems that the Kia EV9 is destined to succeed even in the upcoming year.
