Take-Two Supports ‘GTA VI’ Delay Decision, Promising a “Groundbreaking, Blockbuster Entertainment Experience”

GTA VI is arguably the most highly anticipated game at this point. There are many games that players are waiting for, but the hype surrounding GTA VI is something else and, to be honest, that shouldn’t surprise us. The game has been overdue for years now and it is natural that players want to play it.
This is why the news that the game has been delayed to May 26, 2026 was met with a lot of criticism from the fans, who were expecting the game to be released later this year, as had been announced.
But, while the fans are complaining, Rockstar’s publisher, Take-Two, is supporting the decision to delay the game and they are promising good things for the fans, who will simply have to be patient.
The news that GTA VI would be delayed is currently the most talked-about in the gaming world. Fans are reacting with disdain, while Rockstar is claiming that the delay is due to the fact that they want to deliver the best game they can, which is standard wording when such delays are concerned.
But, aside from Rockstar, Take-Two’s head Strauss Zelnick also decided to respond. “We support fully Rockstar Games taking additional time to realize their creative vision for Grand Theft Auto VI, which promises to be a groundbreaking, blockbuster entertainment experience that exceeds audience expectations,” he said.
“While we take the movement of our titles seriously and appreciate the vast and deep global anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence. As we continue to release our phenomenal pipeline, we expect to deliver a multi-year period of growth in our business and enhanced value for our shareholders,” Zelnick added.
