As far as FPS games are concerned, especially older ones, Quake is a must-play title for every serious FPS fan. And while the 1996 game is now considered a retro cult classic, Quake is a part of history that managed to inspire numerous future games.

There is no doubt that Quake is one of the most influential titles in its genre and that explains why the title has recently been included in the Video Game Hall of Fame, a very big honor, alongside Defender, GoldenEye and Tamagotchi.

Now, in light of that fact, gaming legend and FPS developer John Romero has decided to react in a very personal post on social media.

So, as you know, John Romero is a FPS legend and the developer who worked on early genre hits like Wolfenstein 3D (1992), Doom (1993), Doom II (1994), Hexen (1995) and Quake (1996). A true legend of the genre, Romero helped shape FPS games in the 1990s, setting numerous trends that would be later followed by other developers.

Of course, as the person who helped make Quake what it was three decades ago, Romero is one of the most important people when the game is concerned, so the inclusion in the Hall of Fame is also a personal win for him.

That is why Romero reacted on social media with the following post:

As you could have assumed, Romero expressed his gratitude with the inclusion, but this was a truly personal moment that shows and appreciates the legend that John Romero is, honoring his legacy in the best possible way.
