‘Silent North’ Early Access Launch Trailer Drops – VR Survival Game Now Available on Meta Quest and SteamVR

Combat Waffle Studios has released the Early Access alpha of Silent North, a new virtual reality survival game set in the dangerous and snowy Swiss Alps. Players can now experience the first version of the game on Meta Quest and SteamVR for $19.99.

Along with the launch, the studio released an official Early Access trailer, giving players a look at what’s to come:

In Silent North, players must survive in a cold and hostile world filled with Infected enemies, tough weather, and other real players. It’s a PvPvE game, which means players face both computer enemies and other human players.

You can play alone or team up with others—but be careful who you trust. The goal is to scavenge, survive, and stay alive in a huge, open sandbox world.

“Silent North is about open-ended survival. It’s a slow-burning sandbox where anything can happen—friendships, betrayals, or adventures emerging organically from a vast, persistent world,” said Scott Albright, CEO and founder of Combat Waffle Studios.

“It’s a completely different experience from Ghosts of Tabor. The survival genre is so nuanced, but there’s one thing that tends to permeate every sub-genre: a total lack of immersive, VR ways to experience them. We’re working on changing that.”

Like their earlier game Ghosts of Tabor, Combat Waffle is using early alpha access to let players help shape the game. Feedback from players is a big part of how they build their worlds.

On the same day, the team also announced that their other game, GRIM, is moving from alpha to beta. This means the game is now more stable and has new improvements. The update includes a helpful tutorial for beginners and a change to the wipe system, which now happens once a month instead of weekly.

Silent North is available now in Early Access alpha for $19.99 on the Meta Horizon Store and SteamVR. Players who join now can be part of the game’s growth and help shape what’s next.
