New Fiat 500 Hybrid: First Images Are Out, Confirming Manual Gearbox
The Fiat 500 is one of the Italian giant’s most popular models. Whether you’re looking at the original series or the new one, which started in 2007, the Fiat 500 is a pillar of Fiat’s production and one of its most recognizable vehicles.
You might have heard that Fiat is launching a new Fiat 500 model soon, a hybrid one at that, and we have some good news for all those who were dying to see what the new model will look like.
Namely, the first images of the new Fiat 500 Hybrid model have been released, and we will show them to you here, in this report.
The photographs we are about to show you are prototypes, and there is still a chance that some details will end up being different than those in the images, but they will provide you with a solid general outline of the whole car. Here they are:
The exterior design won’t be that much different, as it will follow a somewhat familiar outline, but we can see that the new model will have a six-speed manual gearbox, as well as a different interior. If you look closely, you will see that the dashboard features a bigger and squarer new storage cubby and that the gearlever is elevated alongside the steering wheel. This reminds us of the old petrol 500.
At this point, we don’t know what power the car will use, but the manual gearbox excludes the possibility of the 1.2-litre three-cylinder mild-hybrid Puretech engine, which means that the car will likely rely on the 1.0-litre three-cylinder mild-hybrid Firefly engine featured in the old 500 and Fiat Panda.
The production of the new car will commence in late 2025, so you can expect the first models in the stores in early 2026.
