Kazutaka Kodaka Reveals Whether We’ll See ‘The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy’ Ported to Other Consoles

Kazutaka Kodaka is a name most manga and anime fans will know, as he is the author of the successful Danganronpa series. But did you know that Danganronpa actually started as a video game before it became a multimedia franchise?
Yes, Kodaka managed to score a hit with Danganronpa and has been doing well in the industry since then. His most recent game, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, was released on April 24 and it is already a major hit.
Recently, Kodaka talked to the press about the future of the game, explaining why we haven’t seen other console ports as of the time of writing.
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is a tactical JRPG game that has, since its debut, attracted a lot of attention. The playerbase is growing, and the game has been getting stellar reviews, which will definitely help boost the game’s popularity.
The game was released by Kodaka’s company, Too Kyo Games, and the author has recently been asked whether there is a chance that The Hundred Line would be ported to other consoles; just a reminder, at the time, the game is available only for the PC and the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what Kodaka said:
If I can pay off my debt early and secure enough operating funds for the company, I’d love to get started right away. But right now, we’re still on the brink of going under.

As you can see, the game is, indeed, doing very well, but Too Kyo Games is experiencing financial trouble and without the finances, there is no way that the game will be ported to other consoles, which would be a shame.
The game is keeping the company alive, but without a further influx of money, the future doesn’t look that bright. That is why we hope that more people buy The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and, through that, help Too Kyo Games survive and make more awesome games in the future.
