Hyundai is getting ready for its next-gen infotainment updates, as the company recently revealed. The update is supposed to be a large-scale one and will bring a completely new system to the company’s models.

The update comes with the release of the Pleos software brand; the Pleos Connect system is set to be included in all of Hyundai’s next-gen models, starting – as things stand now – in 2026.

The new system will be based on the Android Automotive OS, and the company is expecting to have it included in 20 million cars by 2030. We have the details for you!

The biggest change will be a smartphone-like user interface with split-view and multi-window functions. This will be a major change and a major upgrade that will make Hyundai’s infotainment system more similar to the system seen in Tesla cars, although it won’t be the same technology.

On top of that, the car will introduce the Gleo AI voice recognition-based agentic AI for intelligent vehicle control, which will make the whole thing more user-friendly and easier to navigate.

As for users, they will be able to create and use a single connected user profile accessible in any compatible car, which is another upgrade aimed at improving the user experience.

And while this is certainly going to make the whole driving experience more futuristic, it has to be said not everyone will be happy with the upgrades. Namely, a survey revealed that users are not satisfied with touchscreens in cars, stating that they underperform when compared to traditional buttons, and that they do not want cars to become like smartphones.

As stated, this is still a work-in-progress on Hyundai’s side and we just hope that they will be able to deliver a system that consumers will ultimately like and be happy with.
