Google Pixel might not be the most popular phone on the market, but the brand has been a rising one, as Google has managed to make a phone that is both reliable and advanced at the same time, which is amazing.

The recent release of the Google Pixel 9 resulted in a surge of popularity for the smartphone in North America, and the numbers confirm it.

According to the latest information we have, the Pixel’s numbers are on a constant rise and we can confirm that both the U.S. and the Canadian numbers for the Pixel are significantly rising.

As you might know, the release of the Pixel 9 was a major event and Google managed to grab a significant part of the market share with that phone, with the rise being described as incredible.

In the United States, for example, the company’s market share soared from 4.76% to 12.9%, which helped the Pixel surpass both Motorola and OnePlus, which is a great achievement in a short period of time.

But it’s not just the Unites States, where the rise was somewhat expected, but also Canada, where Google saw a significant rise as well. Namely, the market share of smartphones that cost over $700 MSRP when compared to those that cost under $700 is experiencing a significant rise, as 75% of Canada’s smartphone sales in 2024 come from the higher price range.

And while the increase is there on a general level, Pixel phones are also experiencing a significant increase in sales in recent months. Namely, sources claim that it is estimated that the Google Pixel is now at about 8% — up from 6.5% in December 2024 — of the Canadian market; these numbers are based on browsing data, so they’re not 100% reliable, but are a solid indicator.

The current numbers indicate a significant and important rise, although it remains to be seen how that will impact the future and the smartphone market in general. Google is rising, but it remains to be seen whether it will be able to compete with the likes of Apple, for example.

As we’re waiting for the Google Pixel 10, we’re also pondering whether Apple will have a reason to up the game as well, as Google seems to be a fierce competitor.
