Samsung is finally getting ready to bring a more affordable foldable phone to the market, and it’s going to be called the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. That name was just confirmed by Thailand’s NBTC certification, so we now know what to expect. Some people thought Samsung might go with a simpler name like Galaxy Z Flip FE, but including the “7” keeps things in line with the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 models.

The listing on the NBTC site showed the name “Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE” and the model number SM-F761B. While this certification doesn’t give us any specs or details about the phone, it’s solid proof that the phone is real and on the way. The NBTC is Thailand’s telecom regulator, kind of like the FCC in the US.

Before this, the Flip 7 FE had already passed through other certifications like India’s BIS and the US FCC. That usually means a launch isn’t far off. In fact, all signs point to a release alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 sometime in mid-July.

While Samsung hasn’t officially announced the exact date, earlier reports and event planning suggest they’ll reveal everything during an Unpacked event in New York next month.

If you were hoping Samsung might also show off its rumored tri-fold phone at the same time, that’s probably not happening yet. Word is that the tri-fold will show up later this year, and only in a few places like Korea and China.

For the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE itself, it looks like Samsung is putting their own Exynos 2400 chip inside, along with 8GB of RAM. The phone will run Android 16 out of the box and have Samsung’s One UI 8 on top. Charging speed won’t be anything crazy—it’ll have 25W wired charging, just like the Flip 6.

So if you’ve been waiting for a foldable phone that’s not quite as expensive, the Flip 7 FE might be the one to watch. All signs are pointing to a proper reveal in just a few weeks.
