CD Projekt Red Confirms Surprising Install Size for ‘Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition’ on Nintendo Switch 2
In light of the recent Nintendo Switch 2 revelations, including the release date, price, and technical specifications, more and more individual details about various games that will will be able to play on the console are also coming out.
What we have for you here is some information regarding the Switch 2 version of the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition game, which is coming out on launch day, i.e. on June 5, 2025.
In light of this announcement, CD Projekt Red has also revealed the size of the game and we are surprised that the game is so large, to be honest!
First of all, we would like to state that the Switch 2 will have an internal storage of 256GB, which is a significant improvement from the 32GB that the original Switch had. And while you’re going to have the ability to use SD cards, the fact remains that the console will have a lot more space.
At the same time, it seems that the games themselves are going to be much larger. Not all of them, of course, but if Cyberpunk 2077 is a foreshadowing of what is to come when major titles are concerned, we are in for some skillful maneuvering.
Namely, it has been officially confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition‘s size will be 64GB, which is exactly 25% of the console’s total memory! If you add the system files, as well as the space needed for updates, this means that you will only be able to keep three large games on your console at a given time.
We don’t know how large the other games are going to be, especially the major titles, but it seems that some players might have issues with the storage. This is nothing insurmountable, but this is a good way to prepare yourselves for what is to come.
