Beloved ‘RuneScape’ Story, ‘Pharaoh’s Folly,’ Is Finally Back
Released back in 2001, RuneScape is one of the most enduring classics of all time. This fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is even the Guinness World Record holder as the largest and most-updated free MMORPG of all time.
The series has been ported to several consoles in the 20+ years since its premiere, and it has seen numerous updates, as well as story expansions over the years, and we are happy to confirm a new one is on its way.
One of RuneScape‘s most popular storylines, Pharaoh’s Folly, is making a comeback with a continuation that has been released today!
A new quest as part of this popular storyline is now live and the players are able to enjoy the new story in the game. And while the update is free, the devs have revealed that certain in-game conditions will have to be met, as the players will need to have reached Slayer skill level 87, completed the first quest in the Return to the Desert storyline ‘Beneath Scabaras’ Sands’, reached various requirements to complete the Do no Evil quest in ‘Phite Club’, and built the fort buildings required to complete the ‘Fort Forinthry Storyline’.
The official release describes the story as follows: The sands are shifting in Gielinor and the Golden City of Menaphos is in peril. Following Osman’s brutal betrayal in an attack on his own people, Menaphos has been left divided. Amascut’s influence lurks in the shadows, and as Osman’s motives turn even more sinister, it is time to put an end to his evil ways – but only once you’ve escaped the treacherous Shifting Tombs…
If your character meets all the conditions, you can speak to Leela outside the gates of Menaphos so start the new story. Before we conclude this, we have a treat for you as a newly-released edition of Dev Diaries provides more details about the new story:
