After More than 50 Rejections, Indie RPG ‘Crescent County’ Secures Release with a Kickstarter Campaign in Less than a Day

Did you know that Agatha Christie was rejected by numerous publishers before someone actually took and published The Mysterious Affair at Styles, launching one of the most successful literary careers of all time?
Yeah, publishers can sometimes make the mistake of rejecting a great product, but while it was more difficult to enter the market without one before, the story we have for you now will reveal how a rejection can be a good thing.
The story is about the indie RPG called Crescent County and we think you’re going to like the success story that it has become.
As you know, as an indie developer, it is not always easy to find a publisher and enter the market, regardless of how good your product is. There are numerous reasons for that, but the situation is as it is.
Luckily, though, in modern times, there are ways to enter the market even without a publisher, although some help is generally needed, as indie developers generally don’t have the funds to market a game properly.
This happened to Electric Saint, whose RPG game Crescent County had been experiencing numerous difficulties over the years, being rejected by more than 50 publishers in their attempt to publish the game.
But, things have changed now! Namely, the developers have launched a Kickstarter campaign for the game, asking for a total of $60,000 to release the game on Steam and Xbox and not only have they surpassed their goal, but they managed to surpass it in less than a day!
The game itself is a delivery-focused RPG where the player will have to make deliveries in a fantasy world. We can attest that it has some beautiful visuals and that it feels somewhite like Death Stranding but without all the darkness. Bah, here’s a trailer so check it out yourselves!
