Depending on the kind of liquid, the effect may be mild and may be extravagant. However, whenever this problem happens, you can attempt to turn off the PS4 and dry it very well before putting it on again. If the issue isn’t resolved you’ll need to have it corrected by a qualified professional.

When the console overheats, it may lead to your console experiencing a booting issue. This is one of the most common causes of booting issues and it happens when you play the PS4 console regularly for a long period of time, or your PS4 is left on for a very long time. Your console may also be overheating due to dust covering the vents or the vent being blocked by an object.

If the vent is blocked by either dust or any other objects, it could cause the console to overheat faster than usual which will lead to your console turning off and when you turn it on, it will only beep but won’t come on.

How To Fix PS4 Beeps But Won’t Turn On

To help you figure out what’s going on with your PS4 and what’s causing it to beep and not turn on, the following are the 3 troubleshooting steps to try out:

Disconnect Or Change The Power Cable

Disconnecting the power cable for at least 30 seconds and then making sure to reconnect it can help solve issues because this acts as a quick restart for the PS4. The power cable is hooked up at the back of the PS4 console so you can disconnect that cable and reconnect it. You may also instead disconnect the cable from the power source as either of both choices work perfectly for the reset.

Once you’ve done this and it doesn’t work, you can go on to change the power cable to see if it’s the power cable or the power source that’s faulty. You can go on to try out different power sources to confirm this. If your cable or power source is faulty, you’ll be able to denote it by following the above steps.

Conduct A Power Cycling Process

Just like the reset done by unplugging the power cable from the source, the power cycling process is a stronger reset than the previously mentioned troubleshooting process. This process involves a more sophisticated type of reset that helps you fix the beeping and not coming on problem that your PS4 is facing. The following are the steps to perform this process:

  • Hold down the power button until the power light stops flashing.
  • Unplug the power cable and leave the PS4 for at least 20 minutes.
  • Reconnect the PS4 back to the power source and turn it on.

Clean Your PS4

The reason why your PS4 may not be coming on may be due to the ventilation being dirty. If your console has built-up dirt or grime on its Fan or inside it, this may cause it to not work properly. So make sure to clean your PS4 ventilation too while troubleshooting this problem.

Make sure to use a microfiber cloth, compressed air, or a cotton swab to clear away the dirt. You may also need to grab a screwdriver to take out the internal dirt buildup.
