Toyota has just introduced its newest electric car, the bZ7, at the Shanghai Auto Show. This big sedan is the newest and most important model in Toyotaโ€™s electric lineup in China. It was made together with Chinese carmaker GAC and will only be sold in China for now.

Toyota says the bZ7 combines its own safe and high-quality manufacturing with advanced Chinese technology.

The bZ7 looks sleek and modern. It has a smooth shape with a roof that slopes slightly, giving it a sporty feel. Its side view is similar to the Toyota Crown Crossover, but the bZ7 stands out with sharp LED lights and a clean, polished design.

At over 5 meters long (about 197 inches), this car is about the same size as the Tesla Model S, Mercedes EQE, and BMW i5. That means itโ€™s a large car that will definitely get noticed on the road.

Toyota calls it the โ€œflagshipโ€ of its electric cars in China, showing that it wants this model to be the top choice in its EV lineup.

Inside the bZ7, thereโ€™s a huge screen that runs on Huaweiโ€™s Harmony OS. The dashboard looks clean and simple. There are wood trim pieces and ambient lighting that give the cabin a classy feel without being too flashy.

There are also physical buttons on the center console and wireless charging pads, mixing new tech with old-school comfort.

Toyota says the car includes โ€œthe latest intelligent technology,โ€ though it hasnโ€™t shared full details yet. Since the bZ7 is expected to launch in China in 2026, weโ€™ll learn more as the date gets closer.

Right now, the bZ7 is only planned for the Chinese market. Itโ€™s not expected to be sold in other countries, but sometimes plans change. As Toyota continues to grow its electric car lineup, it might bring more models to other places in the future.
