Nintendo Reportedly Might Have Already Shipped a Huge Number of Switch 2 Units to North America

All eyes are on Nintendo’s Direct presentation on April 2nd for official news about the much-anticipated Switch 2. But until then, rumors are swirling, with the latest one suggesting that Nintendo may have already sent a large shipment of Switch 2 consoles to North America.
The rumor comes from a post by a member on Famiiboards named LiC, which was also shared on Reddit in the GamingLeaksAndRumours sub. According to LiC, a Vietnamese manufacturer called HVBG, reportedly contracted by Nintendo, has shipped about 383,000 Switch 2 units to North America between January 17th and 22nd, 2025. Along with the consoles, they also allegedly shipped more than 41,000 Switch 2 charging grips to the region during the same time period.
If true, this would be a big start for Nintendo, but it’s not the end of the story. LiC claims that HVBG might have even more shipments planned, including at least 1.7 million units of individual parts, such as the Switch 2 screen.
With these numbers, it seems possible that the Switch 2 could launch in early summer 2025. Nintendo is likely working to have more units ready before the official release. Last year, a rumor suggested that the company planned to produce about seven million Switch 2 units worldwide ahead of the launch, so this could be in line with those plans.
However, it’s important to note that this is all still just a rumor. Shipment numbers don’t always tell us when a product will actually launch, and hearing this from a third party only adds to the uncertainty. It’s an exciting time for fans, but we shouldn’t jump to conclusions based on speculation.
For official news, we’ll have to wait until Nintendo’s Direct on April 2nd, which is just a few weeks away. Until then, let’s keep the excitement in check and stay tuned for the real announcements!
