Robert Kirkman Confirms ‘Invincible’ Game Is Still in Development: “I Am More Excited Than Ever!
Fans of Invincible have been eagerly waiting for news about the highly anticipated video game based on the hit comic book and TV series. Now, creator Robert Kirkman has confirmed that the game is still in development—and he’s more excited about it than anything else related to Invincible.
Skybound Entertainment first announced an AAA Invincible video game some time ago, promising a high-budget, action-packed experience. In 2023, Skybound even launched a fundraiser to help bring the game to life, raising nearly $680,000 from over 500 investors before the campaign ended in April 2024.
Since then, there hasn’t been much official news, but Kirkman recently reassured fans that the project is moving forward. In an interview with Dexerto before the Season 3 finale of Invincible, he shared a brief but exciting update:
“I don’t know what I can say. I think… it’s definitely in the works. It’s definitely cool. I don’t even know if I can say how much of it I’ve seen,” Kirkman said. “I’m gonna play it safe and just say, from what I have seen, I am more excited than I’ve been about anything involving Invincible.”
Kirkman’s enthusiasm is significant because Invincible is bigger than ever. The animated series on Prime Video has been a huge success, with Amazon already confirming a fourth season. The latest season ended on Issue #65 of the comic series, meaning there’s still a long way to go in adapting the full story.
Meanwhile, Invincible has expanded beyond the show. Allen the Alien recently became a playable character in Fortnite, and the mobile RPG Invincible: Guarding the Globe continues to gain popularity. Despite all of this, Kirkman still says the upcoming video game is the most exciting Invincible project he’s seen. That’s a bold claim!
Although details about the game remain under wraps, early descriptions have called it a “highly produced, high-octane bloodbath that is anything but indie.” That suggests fans can expect intense combat, plenty of gore, and a game that fully embraces the brutal, action-packed world of Invincible.
For now, we’ll have to wait for more details. But with Kirkman’s strong endorsement, it’s clear that this game is shaping up to be something special. Stay tuned for more updates!
