Tesla’s Sales in Germany Keep Dropping Despite the Model Y

For a while, Tesla was a pioneer in its field. The cars were extremely popular, as well as ahead of their time by many standards, which explains why they were so popular all around the world. And then it stopped.

After Elon Musk turned right and became a strong supporter of Donald Trump, involving himself in questionable policies, the world decided to rebel against Tesla. In the U.S., as you probably know, people even burned and destroyed Tesla’s cars, for example.

But, aside from that form of revolt, people have also stopped buying Tesla cars. The sales numbers all around the world are dropping, and Germany has been recording very low numbers, and the trend is not stopping.

Among all the areas of the world, Europe has been the place where people are rejecting Tesla the most. Many European countries have seen a significant decline in Tesla sales, despite the fact that the EV marker as a whole is growing. This is an interesting fact.

On the continent, Tesla sales have been cut by roughly 50% and Germany is the latest country to submit its data for April, when only 885 vehicles were delivered and registered in Germany in that time. At the same time, there is a 53%-increase in EV sales in general.

These numbers show a 46%-decrease in year-over-year numbers, and a 31%-decrease from the first month of the disastrous first quarter of 2025, which was absolutely abysmal for the company.

And while the initial struggles were attributed to the Model Y issues, the company has since confirmed that the Model Y issues have been taken care of. Yet, the numbers are not improving, casting a shadow of doubt over the company’s official claims.
