RTX 50 Super GPUs Leak: Big VRAM Boost Coming to NVIDIA’s Next Cards
New rumors suggest that NVIDIA is working on “Super” versions of its latest RTX 50 series graphics cards. These upgraded GPUs could offer more power and better performance for gaming and creative tasks. While nothing has been confirmed by NVIDIA yet, this news fits with what the company has done in the past.
NVIDIA has a history of releasing Super models. The first Super cards came out with the RTX 20 series, followed by the RTX 40 series. Last year, NVIDIA launched the RTX 4080 Super in January 2024, over a year after the original RTX 4080 was released in November 2022. If NVIDIA follows the same pattern, the RTX 50 Super cards might not launch until early 2026.
According to a leak on the Chiphell forums (via ITHome and tech insider @Harukaze5719 on X), NVIDIA is working on two new GPUs:
- RTX 5070 Super
- RTX 5080 Super
Right now, we don’t know much about these GPUs, except for one important detail: the amount of VRAM (video memory). The leak claims the RTX 5070 Super will have 18GB of VRAM, and the RTX 5080 Super will come with 24 GB.
That’s a solid increase over current models and could make a big difference for gaming at higher resolutions or running demanding creative software.
Other details like clock speeds or power usage haven’t been shared yet, so we can’t say exactly how much better these new cards will be compared to the regular RTX 5070 or 5080.
Since the RTX 50 series just launched a few months ago, it’s unlikely we’ll see the Super models this year. If NVIDIA sticks to its usual schedule, we might expect a release around February or March 2026. However, things can always change, and NVIDIA might surprise us with an earlier launch.
In the meantime, it’s likely that more leaks and rumors will appear before the cards are officially announced. As always, take this early information with a grain of salt—but it does give us an exciting idea of what’s possibly coming next from NVIDIA.
