I’m thrilled to share that ‘RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business’ is hitting PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on July 17. This standalone game from Teyon and NACON builds on the success of the original first-person action title ‘RoboCop: Rogue City,’ and a fresh story trailer has me hooked already.

Old Detroit’s streets are anything but calm. After RoboCop cleaned up the city’s gangs in the first game, trouble’s back with a vengeance. A new OmniTower, meant to house and uplift the city’s people, becomes a battleground when mercenaries with high-tech weapons seize control. These aren’t your average thugs—they’re led by someone with a shadowy connection to RoboCop’s past, and they’ve already hit the police station hard. Our cybernetic hero has to storm this towering fortress to restore order.

What’s got me excited is the new gameplay. You’ll wield a Cryo Cannon and face off against androids swinging katanas. There are brutal finishing moves that scream RoboCop’s no-nonsense style. For the first time in a game, you can step into Alex Murphy’s shoes during flashback sequences, reliving key moments. Peter Weller, the iconic actor from the 1987 ‘RoboCop’ film, returns to voice the character, which feels like a perfect nod to the franchise’s roots.

The game keeps what worked in the original—a mix of heart-pounding shootouts and detective work, with a touch of RPG progression. Expect familiar faces, weapons, and locations from the ‘RoboCop’ universe, grounding this adventure in the gritty world Paul Verhoeven created. The 1987 movie, a sci-fi classic, blended action with sharp satire about corporate greed, and this game seems to capture that same dystopian vibe.

This isn’t just a sequel or add-on—it’s a full, standalone story. Teyon’s crafted something that feels fresh while staying true to RoboCop’s legacy. With the trailer showing off explosive action and a mysterious villain, July 17 can’t come soon enough. I’m ready to suit up and hit the streets of Old Detroit again.
