Porsche is going back in time with a brand-new special edition car. It’s called the 911 Spirit 70, and it brings the style and spirit of the 1970s to a modern sports car. This car is based on the new 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet T-Hybrid, but it looks and feels like something straight out of the disco era.

The 911 Spirit 70 uses the same hybrid system as the regular T-Hybrid model. It has a 3.6-liter flat-six engine and an electric motor, producing 532 horsepower and 449 lb-ft of torque. But this car isn’t just about numbers — it’s about the look and feel.

Porsche says the rear-wheel-drive setup gives it a classic driving experience like cars from the 1970s. But it’s the design that really sells the retro vibe.

The car comes in a special green color called Olive Neo, made just for this model. It has Sport Classic wheels — 20 inches in front and 21 inches in back — finished in Bronzite, a dark metallic shade. The roof and windshield frame are black, which makes the green color stand out even more.

There are three stripes painted on the hood, a “911” decal, and a big “70” on the doors — unless you want a cleaner look with no decals, which is also an option.

The Heritage Design models occupy a special position within our product strategy from a design perspective,” said Michael Mauer, vice president of style at Porsche. “The limited-edition sports cars visualize what makes the Porsche brand so special. Every design of our vehicles ties in with our history – and these vehicles go one step further. They show how we reinterpret historical design elements in a state-of-the-art sports car.

The badge on the hood is a new version of the original Porsche crest from 1963. There are also gold-plated Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur badges, and a Porsche Heritage badge on the engine grille in the back.

Inside, the car is just as bold. It features Pasha-patterned fabric in black and olive. This checkerboard-style design covers the seats, the dash, the glove box, and even the front trunk area. There is also Basalt Black Club leather in some places.

The seats are Sport Seats Plus and can be adjusted in 18 different ways. The Pasha design continues on the center of the seats, made of a mix of soft textile and flock yarn.

The digital instrument cluster is 12.65 inches wide and shows a blend of old and new. It uses green numbers and white pointers, just like Porsche cars from the past. Even the Sport Chrono stopwatch on the dash follows the same white-and-green theme.

Only 1,500 units of the 911 Spirit 70 will be made and sold worldwide. It will arrive in the United States by late summer 2025 with a starting price of $242,250. That’s $62,000 more than the standard 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet and even $20,000 more than a brand-new 911 GT3.

Is it worth the extra money? That depends on how much you love the look and feel of the past.
