New Versions of the Chromebook Will Now Have Notebook LM Pre-Installed

Google’s Notebook LM is an interesting AI tool. A Gemini AI-powered note-taking app, Notebook LM can actually analyze a large number of documents in quick succession and present the user with a summary of all of them.
This can be useful to researchers who need to analyze a large amount of data in a short period of time, which is why Google is working on integrating the app with some of its future releases. As some newly-discovered code suggests, all future versions of the Chromebook will have Notebook LM preinstalled.
And while the use of AI remains controversial and many will not agree with using Notebook LM as a reliable research tool, Google is pushing forward with this. A new code change submitted to the Chromium Gerrit suggests what we have said above.
With Chromebooks integrating the app, it means that users won’t have to download it individually anymore but will just have to access the notebooklm.google.com link in their browsers, which will make using the app easier and quite possibly more common, which is probably what Google is aiming for.
At this moment, it is impossible to tell how this will be received by the users. And while resistance towards AI is present, it is very much a growing industry and it is impossible to tell how things will play out in the near future.
