GameStop Confirms Record-Breaking Switch 2 Launch Day Across More than 2,000 Stores

The Nintendo Switch 2 is finally here. After a long period of waiting, a lot of panic, anxiety, and whatnot, the popular console is finally her,e and people who’ve had the opportunity to get it on launch day are enjoying it as we speak.
Of course, the Switch 2 launch promises to be the gaming event of the year (now that GTA VI has been delayed to 2026), and in light of that, you can imagine that the retailers are earning a lot of money from the console.
In celebration of a very, very successful launch day, GameStop has released a very interesting video, confirming that the Switch 2 has already become a record-breaking console in terms of numbers.
At this point, we don’t have the exact numbers to make things clear. We don’t know how many consoles have been sold and how much the retailers have earned, but GameStop has confirmed that it had a very successful launch day across more than 2,000 of its stores, which is enough for them to consider it a record.

As said, we don’t know how many consoles have been sold, but having more than 2,000 launch-day parties certainly seems like a success, and with such a record-breaking number of stores, the sales were surely great as well.
The special midnight releases across the United States saw DJs and cosplay come to various stores, while those who shopped at the Union Square flagship were treated to a surprise appearance by Nintendo of America CEO Doug Bowser! You can imagine that it was a success.
