ChatGPT Breaks Into Top 10 Most Visited Websites in the US

New data from Similarweb reveals that ChatGPT has surged in popularity, securing the 10th spot for web traffic in the United States. As of June, the AI platform recorded approximately 864 million monthly visits, marking a significant milestone in its adoption.

Despite this impressive growth, Google retains a massive lead at the number one position. The search giant logged over 16 billion visits in the same period, outperforming the runner-up, YouTube, by nearly three times.

Google’s continued dominance is largely attributed to its role as a central hub for essential services like maps, email, and shopping recommendations. Displacing such an entrenched ecosystem is proving difficult, even as AI assistants continue to gain traction among users.
