I’ve got some fresh info on the upcoming Google Pixel 9a, and it’s making a splash in a wild way. Picture this – a YouTuber named Alexis Garza is at a Lucha Libre wrestling match, recording the high-flying chaos with this new phone. It’s not even out yet, but we’re already seeing it in action. The release is coming up fast, expected around March 26, so leaks like this are popping up left and right.

The Pixel 9a is joining Google’s growing phone family, which already has the Pixel 9, two Pro versions, and a foldable. This one’s aimed at folks who don’t want to spend big, with a price tag starting at $499. Word is it’s packing a Tensor G4 chip, 8GB of RAM, and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. Not bad for a budget pick, right?

Now, about that wrestling video – Garza showed off the phone’s camera, zooming in at 0.5x, 1x, and 2x. The back of the device popped up first, sporting a small camera bump that doesn’t scream fancy but keeps that classic Pixel vibe.

The main camera’s said to be 48MP, with a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 13MP selfie shooter. From what we saw, the video quality holds up decently, even squeezed down for YouTube. Colors look sharp, and the range seems solid.

The phone itself? It’s got a 6.3-inch screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a crazy bright 2,700 nits. There’s also a 5,100mAh battery, which could mean it lasts a while, plus 23W wired charging and 7.5W wireless. The design isn’t turning heads – especially the black ‘Obsidian’ version Garza had – but leaks hint at a bold purple ‘Iris’ color that might catch some eyes.

Here’s another video in case the first one gets removed:

We’re still waiting to see how it performs for real, but this sneak peek has me curious. Garza’s clip is still up on YouTube Shorts if you want to check it out before it vanishes – his last Pixel 9a videos got yanked quick. With the official reveal possibly hitting March 19, we won’t be in the dark much longer. What do you think – does this budget phone have a shot at stealing the show?
