Both the MacBook and the iPad have been pillars of Apple’s sales for years now. Despite the prices, these products are extremely popular around the world and are often used by people, which is why there is pressure for Apple to keep developing new products to meet the demands of the consumers.

The company, as we know, likes to showcase its new products, but sometimes rumors start floating around even before Apple officially unveils its new and/or improved products. In light of that, an older rumor has now resurfaced with a fresh perspective.

The source of the rumor is Jeff Wu, a popular Apple analyst, and based on a recent research note, Apple is indeed working on a MacBook with a foldable screen, which would effectively make was for a MacBook-iPad hybrid that would be a large touchscreen.

Wu has revealed, which has already been reported on, that a foldable iPhone is on the way, but it seems that an even larger foldable gadget is going to appear in the future. The MacBook-iPad hybrid should have an 18.8-inch screen and bring a completely new experience to Apple users worldwide.

This means that the new device could function both as a tablet and as a laptop, and while Mac users generally aren’t used to so much contact with the screen (remember how Steve Jobs commented that touchscreens aren’t as user-friendly?), this opens up a lot of interesting possibilities.

Of course, until Apple confirms it, this is merely a rumor so take it with a grain of salt, but it does open up possibilities and it could lead to an interesting discussion or two.
