Call of Duty 2025 to Feature Six Round-Based Zombies Maps and Bold New Settings

Exciting news for Call of Duty fans! Insider Gaming has revealed that Call of Duty 2025, which will be developed by Treyarch, is expected to feature six fully-developed round-based Zombies maps throughout the game’s life cycle.
The upcoming title is already shaping up to be a major release, with reports suggesting it will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2. Even more exciting for longtime fans, the original Zombies crew is rumored to be making a return.
During the early development of Call of Duty 2025, Treyarch reportedly designed the Zombies maps from the ground up to support multiple game modes. These include traditional round-based gameplay, the fan-favorite Grief mode, and Outbreak, a more open-world experience.
One of the most interesting aspects of this new installment is its bold and creative map settings. Treyarch is said to be experimenting with more unique and ambitious locations, including:
- A post-WW2 New York – In this version of history, Nazis have dropped a nuclear bomb on the city, creating a haunting and apocalyptic battleground.
- A Japanese temple – Set at the base of an erupting volcano, this map could provide a visually stunning and intense survival experience.
- Vietnam – A war-torn jungle environment that could offer eerie and atmospheric gameplay.
- Afghanistan – Possibly featuring abandoned military bases and desert landscapes, adding a different tone to the Zombies experience.
- A Space Station in the Dark Aether – One of the most “out-there” ideas, this map could bring players to a nightmarish, otherworldly battlefield.
Leaks from playtesting sessions suggest that Call of Duty 2025 will also feature one of the largest Zombies maps ever created. The game is expected to include a transportation system similar to Tranzit from Black Ops 2, which allowed players to travel between different sections of the map using a bus. If this system returns, it could bring back a sense of adventure and strategy that many fans loved.
While it’s unclear if all these map ideas will make it into the final version of the game, fans can likely expect at least a few of them to become reality. With Treyarch leading development, players can anticipate a high-quality Zombies experience packed with secrets, Easter eggs, and intense gameplay.
The potential return of the original Zombies crew is also a huge highlight for longtime fans. Their reappearance could bring back nostalgic storytelling and connections to previous games in the Black Ops series.
What do you think about these rumored maps and features? Would you like to see the original Zombies crew return?
