Yuri Lowenthal Teases ‘Spider-Man 3’: “Peter is not gone.”

The next Spider-Man game, Spider-Man 3, will feature a key character returning, despite hints from the previous game suggesting he might take a backseat. Insomniac Games has already released three Spider-Man titles, including Spider-Man 2 and the Miles Morales spin-off, and now fans are looking forward to the third installment.
Yuri Lowenthal, the actor behind Peter Parker, recently spoke with The Direct at a special event on February 22. He confirmed some major details about the next game, particularly regarding Peter’s future.
After the ending of Spider-Man 2, where Peter steps away from his web-slinging duties to focus on his personal life, fans were left wondering if he’d be sidelined in Spider-Man 3. Lowenthal reassured fans that Peter will still play a key role.
‘There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that’s that, yes, Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise,’ he said.
While Peter might have left the action behind for now, his journey is far from over. It’s expected that the next game will start with Miles Morales as the main hero, but a new threat or villain might pull Peter back into the action.
The ending of Spider-Man 2 set up a potential showdown with Green Goblin, as Norman Osborn orders the preparation of a “G-serum” to save his son Harry. Peter’s connections to the Osborn family could be enough to bring him back into the fight.
Additionally, the post-credit scene of Spider-Man 2 introduced Cindy Moon, who we know could become the superhero Silk. She’s set to be a major part of the Spider-Man universe, and some speculate she might be one of the playable characters in Spider-Man 3.
If Silk is indeed playable, alongside Peter and Miles, it would create a dynamic with three different heroes to control, each bringing their own abilities and upgrades.
So, even though Peter might step away at first, it looks like Spider-Man 3 will bring him back into action in a big way, possibly with two other web-slingers by his side.
