When Was Xbox Series X released?

The console also has a high-speed SSD which was used in its design to reduce gaming load times. During the console’s launch, Microsoft placed its first-party games and various third-party games to be available for both the Xbox Series X and Xbox One to provide users with smooth transitioning between both generations of the consoles. 20,534 units of the console were sold in Japan during the launch week and by November 2021, the Series X/S finally crossed the 116,000 units sold threshold per month, creating a new record for the highest amount of Xbox consoles sold per month, with the Xbox Series X being sold in high demand.
At the end of January 2022, the demand for the console increased which led to a total monthly sale of 136,034 units of the console. The Xbox Series X still has the potential to have a higher amount of sales monthly in regions all over the world. Microsoft, in 2014, stopped sharing its sales numbers because they want the public to see that the number of sales of each Xbox console doesn’t define its brand and its quality.
However, expert analysts still make sure to keep track of the information and share it with the public to help users understand what’s happening within the Xbox sales team. The Xbox Series X has been a success since its launch with record-breaking sales monthly, the console is still going strong and still has a lot of high demand to satisfy.
Xbox One vs Xbox Series X Sales Comparison

The Xbox Series X has been a successful product for Microsoft as it’s become the most sold console after launch as compared to older generations of the console. A lot more numbers are expected from the sales of the console so, in the future months of the fiscal year, we may see an increase in the sales of consoles compared to the Xbox One.

When comparing the Xbox Series X To other Xbox consoles, the console has been doing great in terms of sales but the more selling Xbox console in this generation, which is the Xbox One, has laid down a threshold for the Xbox Series X to reach.

Although there were reports about Microsoft’s new consoles smoking which painted them in a poor light, the Xbox Series X has had a surprisingly successful launch. Still, the console has its issues. Let’s look at the problems you may encounter with the Xbox Series X:
Discs Getting Stuck In The Disc Drive
It was reported that some early Xbox Series X units had a disc drive problem. This issue created a lot of concern as the disc was seen getting stuck halfway in the disc drive, most times accompanied by a loud clicking sound or grinding noise.
According to technicians, the problem here is the disc drive itself, not with the disc being inserted into the drive and getting stuck. To fix this, it’s recommended that you get in touch with Microsoft for a repair or replacement using their contacts. Although the issue isn’t complex, it’s still important to get it fixed, or else you won’t be able to enjoy the console.
An early Reddit thread shows multiple Xbox Series X users experiencing the same issue, which they suggested the issue is related to the dust cover that protects the disc drive. The users reported that a little push with the pain of your hand is usually enough to loosen the cover and allow the disc to freely slide in.
No videos of this fix have been seen to refer to it as a working fix, however, you can give it a try whenever you experience this or reach out to Microsoft’s support for a repair or a replacement.
Clicking Sound From Disc Drive Or Fan
Although discs getting stuck is the main issue the Xbox Series X owners are experiencing, there have also been reports about clicking sounds from the disc drive or the fan. They report that the sound comes from the console after inserting a disc or while installing a video game.
If the clicking sound is coming from your disc drive, there is a potential solution. The reason for the clicking sound may be caused by some discs when they’re being loaded. Try to test this problem by inserting your disc into another Xbox console and see if it reads. If the disc works on the other console, then your other Xbox Series X disc drive is faulty and you may need to contact Microsoft’s support for repair or replacement.
If the sound is coming from your console’s vent, then there may be some bad news. According to a Reddit user, after experiencing the clicking sound from the vent, he opened the box and found a cable hanging in the middle of the fan which caused the clicking sound when the fan started to spin.
It’s not recommended that you open your box yourself if you’re not an expert so you will need to contact Microsoft for a repair or a replacement. This is because if you open your box yourself, it will void your warranty so reach out to Microsoft to get this fixed or replaced for you.
Discs Won’t Play At All
Some early Xbox Series X units were reported to not recognize discs at all. This issue was peculiar to all discs inserted as it didn’t matter if it was Blu-ray, Xbox One games, or DVDs. If you experience troubles with a particular disc not playing, I recommend you clean it with a damp microfiber cloth, let it dry, then insert it into your Xbox Series X console.
If the disc in question is a Microsoft-published game, you may be able to exchange it for another game under the Xbox game disc exchange program.
If your console won’t recognize a disc, or requests you to insert a disc when there’s a disc already inserted in the console, there are two possible problems you may be facing. It’s either you have a problem with your power mode, which is a known problem by Microsoft to have affected quite a number of consoles, or there’s a problem with your disc drive.

Xbox Series X Won’t Turn On
If your console won’t come on, there’s probably an issue with the internal power circuit. Microsoft indicates that this may be a result of a power surge where the power supply will reset itself. You can troubleshoot this problem by yourself before contacting Microsoft support if the issue isn’t resolved by troubleshooting.
Before you reset your power supply, the first troubleshooting step you should take is to make sure that the outlet the console is plugged into works by plugging another device into it to test it.
If it does, you can perform an internal power supply reset on your console by removing the cord of the Xbox Series X for 10 seconds, then plugging it back in. If this doesn’t work, then change the power cord of your Xbox and try a new one. If these above steps do not work, you’ll need to contact Microsoft’s support.
Games Not Launching With 0x800708ca or Similar Error
Your Xbox Series X May experience this error: “Something went wrong. 0x800708ca” when you’re launching certain games. This error pops up when you’re launching some Xbox One games on your Xbox Series X and they haven’t been upgraded to the Xbox Series X version.
Microsoft hasn’t addressed this issue as they plan to in the future with a possible update on the Xbox Series X. But to help you bypass this bug, Microsoft recommends that you reset your console and upgrade the games to the series X version.
Smart Delivery Games Won’t Install or Have Graphical Issues
The smart delivery game feature allows users to get the newest version of cross-generational games. This means if you have a particular game on your Xbox One, you can get the series x version of the game for free. This feature doesn’t come with its problem, however, some smart delivery titles won’t recognize that installation has finished and may launch with graphical issues.
Microsoft says that this issue happens when Xbox One games are brought over to the Xbox Series X on an external hard drive. There isn’t a particular list of affected games so if you’ve installed a game from Xbox One via an external hard drive, you may encounter this issue.
Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn’t have an official solution to this problem presently but plans to create an update in the future that addresses this issue.
There are some other issues that you may face on your Xbox Series X console, so if you ever face them, make sure to contact Microsoft support if you don’t seem to have a solution to it. You can also try to troubleshoot first but do not open your box so you won’t void your warranty.
