Gamers who’ve long wished for the quirky fun of voice changes during console games are in for a treat.

Voicemod, the company behind the popular voice-changing software for desktops, has launched a nifty new device called the Voicemod Key.

This dongle makes it easy to bring their famous soundboard and voice transformation features to consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

The Voicemod Key is quite versatile. It connects via USB-C to any tablet or smartphone, and it’s compatible with devices as varied as newer Androids and older iPhones, courtesy of an included lightning adapter.

The setup is simple: plug the dongle into your device, connect two audio jacks—one to your console and the other to a wired gaming headset—and you’re ready to go.

The magic happens through the Voicemod mobile app, where users can toggle between different voice effects and sounds in real-time during game chats.

Supported by iOS 16 and Android 8.1 or above, the Voicemod Key is currently available for purchase in the US, with plans to expand to more markets soon.

For those already subscribed to Voicemod, the Key is priced at $25. New users can opt for a bundle deal at $36, which includes the Key and an annual subscription to the service.

Jaime Bosch, CEO of Voicemod, shared his excitement about the launch. ‘In-game voice chats are becoming essential for building real connections in the digital world,’ he said.

‘Gamers value the convenience of console platforms, and we’re excited to bring our real-time voice transformation technology to all their favorite consoles.’

This launch marks a significant expansion for Voicemod, previously confined to desktop computers due to software constraints on consoles.

The Voicemod Key bypasses these limitations, offering gamers a new way to enhance their gaming experience with a touch of personality and fun.
