The iPhone 17 Air is edging closer to becoming a reality. According to DigiTimes, as reported by MacRumors, Foxconn has now entered the new product introduction phase. Sources within the supply chain indicate that this phase is crucial for transforming the iPhone’s concept into a tangible product through design validation and prototype testing.

As a result, this device is on track for a late 2025 launch, coinciding with the rest of the iPhone 17 series, and Foxconn appears to be smoothly navigating the production process.

A few months back, the same source mentioned that the Taiwanese firm Novatek was gearing up to start mass production of a new OLED display technology specifically for the iPhone 17 Air. Initially, this claim seemed somewhat uncertain, as Novatek aimed to develop a thinner screen technology. However, it now looks like everything is falling into place for the device’s anticipated release in the latter half of 2025.

The iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to launch after Apple has struggled for years to make a substantial impact with a variant of the standard iPhone. Sales for models like the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone 15 Plus have been disappointing. Although the performance of the iPhone 16 Plus remains to be seen, it appears that Cupertino is gearing up for a fresh strategy with the iPhone 17.
