Samsung is set to introduce the Galaxy A56, a midrange smartphone that has been thoroughly showcased in new leaks.

These leaks display the device in a variety of colors including silver, pink, black, and pale green.

The design features flat edges and a distinctive camera setup on the back, comprising three lenses on a black panel.

Notably, the power and volume buttons protrude slightly from the phone’s sides, marking a departure from the flush design seen in previous models.

The design isn’t entirely new as similar visuals were previously shared by Android Headlines in November 2024, and also spotted in Samsung’s own renders on China’s TENAA certification site. With such details already public, the authenticity of the design seems confirmed.

However, while the design details are clear, the specifications are still not fully confirmed. Rumors suggest the Galaxy A56 might run on Samsung’s Exynos 1580 chipset.

Other speculated features include a robust 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging, a notable upgrade from the 25W charging capability of Samsung’s flagship models.

Camera-wise, the device is expected to maintain consistency with its predecessors, featuring a 50MP main camera, alongside a 12MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro lens. The selfie camera is also getting a boost to a 12MP sensor.

Samsung traditionally releases its A-series phones in mid-March, and the Galaxy A56 is expected to debut alongside the more budget-friendly A36 and A26 models.

This timing is critical as Samsung aims to solidify its presence in various markets, including potentially the US.

The previous model, the Galaxy A55, did not launch in the US, which was a break from the pattern observed with the popular $449 Galaxy A54 two years ago.

The launch is set against a backdrop of intense competition, with Apple poised to unveil a new iPhone SE and Google planning an early release for its Pixel 9a.

Both competitors are aiming for a March launch, setting the stage for a tightly contested midrange smartphone battle.

We’re keen to see if Samsung’s strategy pays off in this fiercely competitive segment, especially with significant developments expected from its rivals in the same launch window.
